Hi all,

LBBD have announced that the Deputy Leader of the Council will be answering questions live on Twitter on 24 March.

Details below:

Local residents will once again have the opportunity to ask questions of the Deputy Leader of the Council during a live Twitter question and answer session.
The live session will give residents the chance to find out more about the financial challenges the Council will face over the coming years and how we plan to address them.

The session which will take place on 24 March, will provide valuable information about the things the Council is doing to save money while delivering and still protecting frontline services.

The live session is the fourth time the Council has used Twitter to give residents the opportunity to ask questions about matters that concern them. The session comes on the back of a call for the Government to consider the pressures facing the area in general and the borough in particular and as such, give the Council a better financial settlement to reflect not just the pressures of a record population increase, but the impact of welfare reform.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Rocky Gill said: “Twitter is a great way to engage with our residents to obtain their views on the services that they receive. We urge everyone who hasn’t yet signed up to use Twitter to engage with the Council and most importantly, participate in this live discussion.

“The Council is continually seeking innovative ways to save money whilst delivering the best service to our residents. We are working hard to do more with less and will continue to seek a fair deal from the Government for the residents of Barking and Dagenham.”

The live session will take place from 7pm to 8pm on Monday 24 March. To participate, residents simply have to follow @CllrRockyGill on Twitter and include the hashtag #AskRocky in their tweets.
