Anyone have experience of JCB Academy?

We are a way off time to apply but DS is really keen on going even though its miles away. Know they are fickle and he will probably change his mind but was just wondering if anyone has experience of the school?

My bothers stepson is there and has really come on since he moved there - he transferred from a large sch in the north end of stafford where he was starting to get bored and was struggling with his dyslexia. He has settled well and had work experience and is hoping to get onto rolls Royce's apprentice scheme and maybe get sponsored by them to go to uni.

That sounds really good, thanks Nelly. We are miles away but could just do it. DS seems really keen Smile

Do the jcb buses pick the kids up round your way. I think they even pick kids up as far as derby. My brother and his partner went to an open day at jcb - you could find out when they are and have a visit to check them out. Go for it! :)

Hadn't thought of looking at the buses. Don't think they will pick up here but he may be able to catch the train and then a bus. We'll see how much he wants to go nearer the time, if he's really determined he won't mind the journey Smile

You must be really pleased that your DN is doing so well there. Going from being bored at one school to the prospect of an apprenticeship and university is fantastic. Smile
