Moving to Huddersfield, but which part?!

Hello all,

My OH & I are looking to move to Huddersfield in the Summer, but we aren't very familiar with the area. We like the look of Birkby, but I'd love to hear any advice you may have.
I'm from Leeds originally, & lived with my partner in Hebden Bridge for a few years until we moved to North Wales last year. Now we want to move back to Yorkshire, & Huddersfield as a whole seems to tick all the boxes, we just need more info about which areas are good!
We'd like to be within walking distance of parks, schools & nice places to eat. Basically, for anyone who knows Hebden Bridge, we're looking for that kind of convenience!
Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest looking at these areas for everything you have specified:

Lindley
Kirkburton
Almondbury
Holmfirth

Sorry you haven't had any replies - the local boards are really quiet! Everyone talks on the main boards!

I live in Holmfirth and definitely recommend it if you've come from Hebden, I think they have a similar vibe as well as being the sort of place you'd come for a day out if you like your countryside. There are some great places to eat and lots of opportunities for community involvement I don't work for the tourist board

Hi Mummysweetpea. Would definitely agree with Forinna and Flapcats - Holmfirth would be the nearest to Hebden Bridge you'd get! Slaithwaite and Marsden might also tick some boxes.
