We're thinking about Teignmouth as a place to live.
Does anyone live there? Would you recommend it?
What are the nice areas to live?
Thanks.

We're thinking the same, we liked Bishopsteignton but there just aren't any houses around at the moment so we've moved the search to include teignmouth as well. What's it like for children? Our little boy is three and starting school in sept. moving from Bath to be nearer family in Torquay, would be interested to know other people's views on teignmouth and surrounding areasSmile

Teignmouth is FAB for kids. The seafront playpark, skate park and pier mean that you've always got a free day out on the doorstep. Schools and nurseries are great, beaches are lovely, and the town has a vibrant arts & music culture for such a small place. If you drive through Teignmouth it looks like something & nothing, but park up and have a look around - there's a lot more to it than meets the eye!

We're also thinking of moving to Teignmouth and really encouraging to read your post CiderPunk! My kids love it when they go there - my only concern is that they will soon be teenagers and not sure what sort of social life/activities there are for older kids in and around the town. I'm guessing they would go to Exeter for their social/cultural as they get older? Would love to hear from any parents or teens out there to reassure me (or otherwise)...

The local secondary (TCS) has a great reputation, especially for arts (Muse went there!) and there's good sports facilities in the town, too, including a rugby ground, leisure centre & lido.
