Would you like to meet other lone parents in a similar situation? Did you know that Scotland has 657,000 carers who care for a family member who is ill, disabled or frail? Without their dedication, the cost to the government would be equivalent to 3/4 of the NHS budget in Scotland. In order to qualify for Carer's allowance, a carer must spend at least 35 hours per week or £1.67 an hour.
