Hi all, My husband has been offered a teaching position on the island and we are moving from the mainland .. well we need to be moved by jan 3rd.

We have no idea where to live but as we are renting there does seem to be a lot of choice only problem is actually getting over to view as all the agents I spoke to wont let without a viewing

Anyone know where is good to live .. Is freshwater too quiet? Is Ryde too loud.

I am starting to have doubts about the whole thing but can't tell my husband as it was me who suggested the interview [hblush], hoping its just nerves..

I have DS7 and Ds 3 so will be looking for a good primary school too xx

Hi Piggy. Where is your DH going to be working? Although the island is smallish you will very soon get an island mentality and driving anything more than 20 minutes seems along way!

Where are you moving from? Is it a quiet village or a bustling city? DO you want to live somewhere quiet or where there will be things going on for your DSs? If you are renting to start with at least you will be able to decide where you will be able to buy once you know the areas a bit better.

HAve you been here before? It is lovely, but some places can be incredibly quiet, especially in the winter!

I am happy to answer any questions. I have always lived here, apart from 3 years nurse training on the mainland.

Welcome Grin. We are a lovely friendly breed over here!!

Hi I av been on the island now for 3 years moved from Sheffield it's a different life here and I feel it's so much nicer 4 kids.

I av just moved from Newport to ryde and all ready prefer it. 10 min walk to the beach And I live right by the town centre and get no noise or trouble even at the weekend.

There are so many nice places on the island and u I'm sure u will b able to find the perfect place to suite u! Hope it all goes well with the move and u friend the ideal place! Xx
