Hi ladies.
Would appreciate any help on this one. Have posted in main area, but thought I'd be better posting this in the local area. I'm looking for recommendations for domestic cleaners in Shoreham-by-sea. Anyone recommend their cleaner?

While i'm on the subject, Could anyone tell me if they prefer to use agencies or private cleaners? I've been paying over £15 per hour for an agency whcih seems ridiculous. I only need a cleaner one a fortnight for a couple of hours to help me out (as I'm working).

cheers m'dears! Wine

I'm also after a good cleaner in Shoreham - that doesn't charge the extortionate rate that the national company that keeps putting leaflets through my door quoted me - £67 per week for a 3 bed house!

Hi MABS ** thanks for recommendation! I've cancelled the extortionate £18 I was paying per hour with a well known agency in Hove!! And gone with a shoreham based agency (£10.00 per hour £7 for cleaner £3 agency fee. I'm going to see how it goes - am tied in for 1 month. But £8 per hour is even better... MABS do you give your cleaner an exact list or does she just clean most stuff without being directed? :-)

Thanks - obviously good cleaners in Shoreham are in high demand! Will follow in ratflavouredjelly's footsteps and try the agency route. If anyone knows of a good cleaning agency in Shoreham can you let me know.

I may follow ratflavouredjelly - are you talking about an agency that's name begins with an A? (I can't think of any others!)

[Poppypies] and [littlemisstax] i can message you the agency I've just signed up with. not sure if i'm supposed to mention company names on here (or not?). I wish i didn't have to resort to a cleaner but with a 2 yo and 4 yo plus a demanding job and house move, it's all getting a bit full on... Grin

Or I can give you a clue!! My agency begins with the letter..."M" I also was contacted by a lovely lady who runs an agency beginning with the letter 'A'... Mysterious eh Wink

Thanks for the PM - please let me know how it goes next week.

I know what you mean - it feels wrong paying someone to clean for me, but I've gone back to work and my almost 1 year old is a one girl mess making machine!

Thanks from me too. Hope all goes well with the cleaner. I think we all try and do everything ourselves but in the end sometimes its good to have a helping hand. Am still trying to decide if I can afford to have a cleaner or can I afford not to have a cleaner with the growing mess!

Haha - I'm realising that I can't afford not to!! I'll let you know how Monday goes. I did specify the age and personality I wanted (!) because I was sick of being Messed about by one agency with students (I've been a student and you really don't give a damn) and one who sent me a kind of lap dancer in hotpants!! :-)

How did the cleaning go on Monday? Will definitely specify age and personality now following your experience - lap dancer is definitely not the type I'm after!!

Hi all, my mum lives in Shoreham and she wouldn't mind doing a bit of cleaning for some extra money. She was a school caretaker for many years and then held a pub licence for 10 years before she retired so she is reliable and trustworthy. Mum also did domestic cleaning some years ago while she was between jobs. It started off as a way of paying for her horse's stabling but she kept being recommended to other people and ended up being quite busy! She'd quite like the sort of job where she goes in once a week and has a good blitz round. If anyone is interested then contact me (not sure how that works but it can't be too hard can it? Grin).

Hi, I am also looking for a good cleaner in Shoreham. We would probably need about 2 hours per week.

Even though my partner would like the one described who turns up in hotpants, I don't think it's really ideal.

Shoreham is lovely, I'm quite surprised there are so many MNers in such a small place.

scubali did you notice how old the thread is? Grin

Good luck finding a cleaner though. If I were you I'd pm Pixel and check out her mum Smile

And no guilt, having a cleaner is A Good Thing for all concerned Wine
