Hello everybody!

I'm moving to the Inverness area in November, as I have a job there and don't know anybody! I have an almost 3 year old son and it will just be the two of us moving there, so would really like to get in touch with people up there and find out about local meetups, and lots of other stuff!

Looking forward to hearing from you

Rachel

Hey Rachel,
I live about 40 miles north of Inverness, have recently moved up here to build a house. I've got a 2 year old little boy.
I don't work weekends or Monday/Tuesday so if you fancy a coffee when you get here give me a shout and if you tell me whereabouts you are going to be living I can recommend toddler groups/places to go.
Is your son going to be going to nursery in Inverness? I've got a fair few pals in Inverness with kids of similar ages so I can put you in touch with them too.
Speak soon
Heather

Hi Rachel,
Yes, that sure shall be daunting! Well done for sourcing folk on here though! The Inverness site on MN is real slow! Nothing ever happens on it! I am a local, now living 1/2 hour from Inverness, nearer to Nairn.
I have a 17 month old daughter.
If you fancy a coffee, let me know.

Ladies, the meetups on netmums are quite active, I'd recommend having a wee look on there. Although I don't take part in them, I know a few of them and they are a lovely bunch.

Thanks for your responses! Would definitely love to meet up for a coffee when we get there Heather and missjulie. Not sure which part of Inverness we'll be living in yet, I'm still waiting for confirmation of my start date, so can't really look for anywhere till then. I'll be working Monday to Friday but free at the weekends.

My son will be going to nursery in Inverness so would be grateful for any information on local nurseries.

Will check out the meetups flier!

Hope to meet you soon!

Rachel

Hi everyone,
I'm moving to Marybank, just outside Muir of Ord in October. I'm 28, pregnant with my first baby due mid August and moving up with my husband. He has a new job up north. I'm quite nervous about the whole thing because I won't know anyone. I'm trying to start planning early so that when we move up I won't be completely lost, I'm sure i'll be kept busy with a new baby but would love to get to know people up there and find out about any local groups where I can meet people!

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks :-)

Hi, I just joined this site after my friend recommended it, she says it is fantastic for advice and general friendliness. I am moving to Inverness soon as my partner has been offered a job there, and I am really not sure what to expect! I suppose I was just hoping you could all let me know what it is like?

Hi Francesca,

I used to live there 7 years ago & stayed for 5 years. Wonderful place, very friendly & lots going on. So good that we are seriously considering moving back.

When are you moving? What area are you moving too?

Hope you get settled soon, lots of people have moved into City centre from small villages on outskirts or even Islands, so lots of people are not from direct area, hence making friends easier.

Hope this helps
