Bloody hell - Banbury car park fees have TRIPLED

On Sunday we went to Spiceball Park swimming and the Sunday parking fees have gone from 60p for three hours to £1.80 Shock So we went to the Castle Quay car park and paid £1.50 all day instead.

I'm stunned. They went up a lot last year but to TRIPLE in a fortnight. And they are the more inconvenient car parks - people just won't use them. It's bonkers! Hmm

The one round the back of Iceland have started charging full whack for blue badges and halved the blue badge spaces too.

I knew they'd started charging for blue badges but you get an extra hour free (so if you pay for one hour you get two to take into account it takes longer to shop with a disability).

But I think you can park anywhere with a blue badge and use it in the council car parks anyway. The disabled ones are just ONLY for disabled people.

I just sent them a snotty email. Doubt they'll bother to reply though.

It's mad though, charging more for less convenient car parks Hmm

I can't believe Spiceball has gone on that much though. Mil doesn't mind paying as such, but she pointed out a lot more cars and badges parked on the yellows.

I get the bus in more often than not, so hadn't noticed till I went with MiL on the Great Coat Hunt....we failed, MiL is VERY particular about sleeves Grin

Always a mistake expecting anything sartorially elegant, to be available in Banbury I find Grin

Oh Spiceball the sports centre car park is even more expensive this was the one over the bridge!

Bloody hell! We never use the Spiceball one.

Banbury drives me mad at times. I've just bought one of those foot measures for home. As it dawned on me that I trek all the way in at a cost of nearly £9 on the bus for me and the dc's to get their feet measured at Clinkards. Then they either have limited stock so I have to buy something more expensive than I can afford or go home and order online elsewhere.

So figured neither dc has feet width issues, so may a well save the bus fair or car parking charges and just buy online Grin

The other thing the pissed me off was I wanted to get a high waisted short length jeans about 3 weeks ago. Went EVERYWHERE, nothing. Where did I eventually find a decent pair? When I stopped off in fucking Sainsbury's to pick up something for dinner! And they were only £6.90! Gah.

Yup Banbury is truly shite these days. And this week they have closed the road which leads up to Tesco, the one that leads to Bodicote and apparently some of the little roads down by the Horton so it's pretty much impossible to get round too!
