Single Mums?

Hello :)

Just wondered if there are any single Mums in Oxford area (I'm in Bicester at the mo) who wanted to meet to combat the loneliness that seems to be apart of the single Mum package. Organasing a group meet or just finding someone to share some tea and chats with would be amazing...and maybe if we're really daring to have movie nights in so those horrible quiet times in the evening can be shared with someone other than the TV.

Will reply to all answers, and hope to hear from some lovely Mums in a simialr position and frame of mind too :) xxxxx

Hi NikkiL,

I'm a single mum to a 15 MO DS. We live near Chipping Norton. I'll watch this thread and see if we get more takers.

Take care xx

Hey! Thanks for the reply.... This has been very quiet so far! Do yummy mummies have replied to my similar posting on the lone parent section.

How you finding life as a single mummy? My DS is almost 1 now (it goes sooooo fast!!!) and have another due November.

There seems to be little in the way of single parent groups in the shire...I think this should change..we shouldn't all be alone!

xx

Hey,
I'm coping now. was not coping at all to begin with. It is so tough, and we do need support. I have a couple of friends I have made since having my DS, both of whom are relationships, but they are great.

There is a single parents group at the ACE centre in Chipping Norton but i've not braved it yet.

We do seem to be few and far between being single mummies in the area. But as you say, we should be able to change it.

The first year is like lightening. Is your DS running about yet? Days seem to go on forever when you're running after you boy all day

xx

Glad to hear your coping better now. It is such hard work for any parent, let alone when you haven't got someone to share the load with. There does seem to be quite a few people in our situation. I have so far met 2 lovely ladies through this, and shared some amazing emails. Its so nice to have someone to chat too in the evenings once DS is in bed. I get so excited when I see I have a mail :)

DS isn't walking yet, think he's saving that gem for when I give birth to DC 2 lol.

Are you working or a happy sahm? What makes you nervous about the single mummies group? I find it a bit intimadating to go to groups but have decided to just keep going from now on until I am used to it. Its so hard though

If you need a chat or some company just PM me, always about...esp when little one is asleep :)

xx
