Will post in travel also but basically as above. Really in need of some sunshine, 3-4 hour flight seems manageable. We just want something easy, apartment, heated pool, toddler & baby friendly, near to beach, ideally not too touristy but with direct flights. Any suggestions? Oh, & budget is basic! Not asking for much Grin

Have a look at the Travelzoo website and sign up for their weekly newsletter. I've had some great deals from them in the past and next week Im heading off to Morocco for a week direct from Edinburgh for a bargain price. Though as the temp is in the 40Cs it's not one I'd recommend for you and your children!

Thanks Kaumana, never heard of Travelzoo, will have a look and sign up, cheers, and have a great time in Morocco, I love it there, though, as you say the heat may not go down to well with the babes!

We flew to Lanzarote from Edinburgh and went to Playa Blanca to the H10 Rubicon Palace. A few friends swear by Majorca.

We aren't holidaying abroad this year as £ going on house instead Angry but before we made that decision we were looking at self-catering in Malta or Portugal via holiday-rentals.co.uk and our children are about the same age as yours.

We had a fab holiday in Majorca at this age. Alcudia is a good place. Lots of hotels directly on the beach (no road to cross , easy to pop back to the room). Beach just gorgeous and very safe and shallow. We stayed in an Iberostar (not budget but cheaper in September).

We took a blow up ring (the galt one) for the baby and a sun tent. He was happy to sit in the ring on the beach in the tent watching the world for ages. Kept him out the sun and stopped the sand blowing in his face so much. Not too much to pack either!

Also, don't rely on the heated pool for the baby, it might not be. We liked the baby wetsuits (the ones that cover their body and fix with velcro). They really do make a difference, keep them toasty, and able to stay in the water much longer.

Thanks for all the suggestions, will check out holiday-rentals and will def look out for a heated pool and get a mini wet suit for DS, great idea. Alcudia sounds like the kind of thing we are looking for.
