Are there any friendly mums groups in Caversham?

Hi folks!
I am mum to a very sociable 7month old baby girl and I would love to meet up with some of the other local mums and babies. I have seen some at the Rhyme time in Caversham library, but many seem to keep to themselves or come with friends they already have.

It's tricky making new friends when you are a first time mum, and I'm sure there are plenty of friendly people out there :o)

Please say hello if you'd like to meet up in Caversham some time, or are already a part of a mum's group that you could recommmend?

Hello! I'm in Caversham too, mum of a 6 week old little boy. The Childrens Centre on Amersham road does lots of activities - lots of mums go to the breastfeeding cafe on Monday mornings. Check out Buggyfit on Monday and Wednesday afternoons too.

There is a mum and baby group at the church on the Waitrose roundabout at 10am on Wednesdays too. I drop in there if I'm at a loose end.

I'll be at Rhymetime tomorrow. Say hello if you see me Smile

Hey Nancerama,
Sorry I've only just seen your reply. I thought I would get some email from mumsnet to let me know I had a reply.

Thanks for your msg. I know about the children's centre on Amersham rd as I used to go there for antenatal, midevife appts. I wasn't sure if I could go for the breastfeeding cafe as I have bottle fed my baby mostly!

I did try and get to rhyme time but it was fully booked by the time I had called, but hope to see you another time!

There's a soft play area in the health club where Waitrose is, it's got a small bit for young babies and they'll bring you a coffee whic is nice. I'm more wokingham way now but spent plenty of time there!

Hi MumOfMaya

The Monday group at Amersham road has breastfeeding support workers for those who need it, but there are some bottle-feeding mothers who go too. If you're worried, feed your baby before you go - then no one will know!

I've heard about a group at Emmer Green children's centre on Fridays from 10:30-12:00. I've never been, but it's supposed to be excellent. I might give it a go this week.

Bookings for Rhymetime open every Thursday morning - you need to get in early!

I hope you're out and about soon.

Hi, there's a playgroup called Escape at Mapledurham Pavillions on Monday and Thursday mornings. Set up intially by a mum who wanted to "escape the house". Parents are encourage to get involved in the running the group and it's a good way to meet other mums.

Hello Mum of Maya! I know this is a very old post but I just joined Mumsnet now & was searching for your same topic! I am a mum to a baby boy who is 10 months now, you might have made friends already & your sweet angel is almost a year older than when you posted that but still hope you do log in & wish to meet up with another new mum in Caversham;)
Cheers
