Anyone in SPAIN, know anything about Telefonica? Or making a telephone call to Spain in general.

I am trying to get in touch with a customer in Spain (Madrid I believe), my emails keep bouncing. Today I plucked up the courage to phone him (my Spanish is limited to say the least ) and got a recorded Spanish message, I think it was telling me the number was unavailable.

Firstly does anyone know if there is a problem with Telefonica? I am thinking that if they provide his internet and telephone then perhaps their services are down at the moment (been trying since yesterday lunchtime with the email). I have tried Telefonica's website but it is not displaying properly and is completely in Spanish.

Secondly does anyone know anything about phoning Spain, perhaps the number is wrong, I dialed 0034 then a further 9 digits, does this sound right?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Hi I'm in spain and there's certainly no nationwide problem although that's not to say there isn't a problem in his area. 0034 + nine digits sounds right..

Am trying to check the telefonica page now..

Thanks sleepbabysleep, I was just looking at the website when the phone rang and it was my man from Madrid. His English is much better than my Spanish, he confirmed he had a problem with his email and is going to contact me again.

Thank you for your help sleepbabysleep, which part of Spain are you in? How's the weather out there just now? We are due to go out a month tomorrow and can't wait.
