So after much deliberation, it looks like are are relocating to Geneva this summer. We have two dcs, one 5 and one 7, and are visiting the schools in the coming weeks.
We’ve been looking at Ecolint, GES and IIdeLancy.
We are hoping for a warm supportive educational environment for the kids and access to a community open to making new friends. We are expecting a period of adjustment but just wondered how likely we are to be able to find friends and playdate buddies for the kids and indeed friends for me. I won’t be working for the first year or so.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has done this before or who is there now! Thanks!

I'm in Switzerland though not Geneva, have a look on Facebook as there a group on there called International mother's living in Switzerland.
They will be a font on knowledge and potential contacts for you.
Good luck in your new adventures

I’m sure that you will meet people through your children’s school. The expat community in Geneva is generally very friendly and welcoming. The locals, not so much, but that is because the international community is so transient and large. I made a lot of good friends during my time there.
There is a great website called glocals which had lots of different meet ups, these are a good way to meet people with similar interests.
It’s a fantastic place to live, so close to the mountains and right on the lake.
I hope that you and your family really enjoy living there.
