Dear all
We are currently living in the Middle East but we are from SW London and have a home there. My older son is 4 next year and younger only 2.
I had always wanted to try St Paul’s / Kings for my sons IF they are bright enough and are the right type of boy. I don’t believe we can know this yet, but the older is definitely showing signs of high ability so far. As registration for 7/8+ entry is from 4 i am thinking about next steps.
We will likely be back in the Uk before he would start Year 1 but if we are not, they’ll be at a very good hmc international school. As this school won’t prepare them like a London pre prep would however, should i be doing anything extra with them from Reception stage? If I don’t, will they be able to catch up later or is the foundation at pre prep stage really crucial to help with the 7/8+ for those schools?
I’m passionate about education and getting the boys the best for them will drive when we move back to London.
Thanks so much in advance.

To keep my boys in the London loop despite our ME location they were enrolled at birth at 3 reputable London pre-preps .We took them back for Reception assessments and one was offered a place at all three schools and a year later the younger had the choice of two. I chose one school (YR -Y8) and have continued to defer their places. Each year they sit an exam to remain on the weightlist and this is invigilated by their current international school It gives me insight to what areas possibly need work and to date that has been very little as thankfully their school keeps them on track.
