Hi all,

It's my first time asking a question on mums net.

My wife and I are planning on moving to Vancouver, BC from London, England. We have our heart set on Kitsilano as we'll be closer to our friends.

I need some advice on childcare. We have a 1 year old son who attends a nursery full time. We had to give nearly a years notice to get our place in London. Is it the same in Vancouver? We're looking for nurseries in Kitsilano. Can anyone recommend any? How much do they cost there? I need to budget.

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi, we're moving this thread over to our Living Overseas topic in case there's someone able to give the OP some advice on this.

this may help
Email them.

I'm sure the education bureau/school district office will be able to help with preschools in the catchment?

There are long wait lists for any quality day in Kits. It's been a while for me, but my friends in the area were paying around $1600 a month a few years ago.
You might try Craig's list for some leads. Or ask your friends. Word of mouth is usually the best way to get referrals. Good luck.
