Where would you recommend?

Hi everyone, I would appreciate your thoughts. My hubby and I have been considering a move abroad with our 2 daughters aged 5 and 3.5 for nearly 2 years and have decided to go for it. We initially thought that Dubai would be a great place for our first move (there is a daily flight from our local airport, weather fantastic, we both work in construction, we have friends there and we've been a couple of times and liked it) but it seems like it might be difficult for him to get a job out there without Middle East experience. We definitely want to try somewhere new for the life experience as a family, better climate, job opportunities etc, where else would you recommend we consider a move to? It must be family friendly and be warmer than the north east of England... We plan to rent our home out here and I'd look to get a job when my youngest starts school in Sept 16.

Do you speak any foreign languages?
I have been an expat for over 20 years and it's easier to get an overseas contract with your existing company, rather than picking a country to move to.
Not sure China would tick many boxes - high levels of pollution and can be very hot in summer.
Austria has good weather (provided you like snow in the winter),good for families, easy to get back to UK, but I found it quite insular.

You really don't need overseas experience for Dubai!

Get a job first and you'll probably get paid to relocate, paid for health insurance, shipping and relocation costs, housing, schools etc. Otherwise relocating and then looking for a job not only narrows down your search radius but is also very expensive....
