What is your job if you live in France?

Sorry, posted this in the short haul section too. We are on hols in south of France at the mo. and as usual have been seduced by the lifestyle, food, weather etc. it happens every year!
I know living here permanently would be totally different but would be fpgrateful if you can tell me your experiences of life compared to the uk. Schooling, community etc.
Also, if it's not too rude. What work do you do? I'm a teacher and dh is a manager so not sure if we'd get work. I know teaching here is hard to get into.
