Does dnr mean that only cpr is not performed or does it cover ventilation also? I.e. If dnr in place the person would not be put on a ventilator if went into respiratory failure?

DNR only means that chest compressions would not be commenced if a persons heart has stopped and they have died. Anything and everything (including a ventilator) is still up for discussion if appropriate for that person.
