My friend was spiked while working as a lapdancer. Had to go to hospital. Is thankfully okay now. Club have suspended her because it "looks bad" and they've been warned by licensing. I think this is disgusting. She is literally being punished for being attacked. Any advice?

Crikey. I've a friend who was a lap dancer for many years. Always thought that the club were always happy to make money from her, but couldn't see them being supportive employers sadly. No advice. But just yet another example of how women's rights are discarded.

I think it does make a difference that most if not all, lapdancers in the uk are self employed

Wow Fuckoff that sounds awful!
I'd suggest calling ACAS as a first step.
It will probably be necessary to work out your friends employment status (ie: employed or self employed) before they can advise on her rights. They will be know the right questions to ask to ascertain this.
The GMB Union has a sex workers branch. I've no idea how good these guys are in a practical situation (Im a little cynical about them) but they may be worth a shot.

I should have put it in the OP but as a lapdancer she is self employed

OK: Still ACAS though for an overview of her rights.
Did she report the spiked drink to the police.
Its very worrying that the club are trying to cover up that this happened....I would be tempted to report it to the licencing board to be honest and possibly to the press as well
