Help. Parking ticket

Hi. Just after some advice. I work as a viewing rep for an estate agent. While doing a viewing I parked in a private car park in the space allocated to the apartment I was showing. I came back to a ticket on my car. Not a fixed penalty one from a traffic warden but it looked like it in the yellow clear plastic bag.
The ticket said a permit must be displayed so they want £55 if I pay in 2 weeks or £95 if I leave it longer. There were signs clearly displayed so it is totally my fault but I really don't want to pay. I did a bit of googling around and some people say to just ignore it. They will send some threatening letters then eventually give up. Others say to try and appeal. Any advice? And thank you for reading

I'm just going to highlight that for you.

There are going to be a bunch of people coming after me saying "fight the power, work the system, ignore the ticket". They are wrong. You are wrong. And you know you were wrong - you even admitted as much - so just be a decent human being and pay the damn fine.

Or, you know, do what the coming posters say and ignore/fight it. Because the world totally needs another entitled selfish git.

The choice is yours.

Such "fines" are now enforceable in the civil courts. See if your employer will pay it for you, but I think if they do it is taxable.

I noticed the sign after I got back to car not before , but yes I admit it's completely my mistake. Just pissed off really that half my days wage will go on this
