Can I take my partners child to hospital without him to check suspicious bruising?

My partner has a child with his ex who visits us regularly and he is currently going through a custody battle due to some safeguarding concerns. The ex naturally blames me for the cause of all problems but all I have ever done is show love and care for the child raising concerns when necessary. The child continuously comes to us with suspicious looking bruising and this has been logged with child services previously and in the court case. She has again come to us covered in bruising. Some look like handprints round her ankles and one looks like a burn mark under her nipple. The child came to us at bedtime to show us these bruises but claims they were done by her bike. Which always seems to be the excuse. My partner seems reluctant to do anything about them due to the court case but I feel that he needs them checking out and also to cover our backs as the mother is the type to make a claim that it has happened when with us. What do people think we should do? Do I have a right to take her to the hospital to be checked without him? Thanks in advance
