How to find details of convictions?

Is there any way i can do a public above board search of when a person has had a court appearance / was convicted? And possibly if they were sentenced?

Any advice welcome

I don't know what court it was in; just roughly what year. Have tried the law pages....might take some time! I know he went to prison anyway.

Have you tried checking the local newspaper?

If its in there it will at least give you the date
