Contesting a council parking ticket

I parked in an on road pay and display area (ie local council control), bought my ticket and stuck it in the window - even checked it as I walked away from my car. When I came back the ticket had fallen off and I had got a parking ticket. Emailed the council and explained but they have just written to say as I did not have a visible ticket it is my own fault and pay up. I am gutted, £25 to park for an hour when I had a valid ticket. Is it worth contesting further?

I did and won. Ticket was in the footwell on the drivers side. Council said the warden had taken photos of the inside of the car but they were unable to provide them so no evidence to show that the ticket hadn't fallen off.

Send a photo of the ticket? It will prove you had one and it slipped

They have included blurry photos in their reply that don't show a ticket. I'm not disputing the ticket wasn't easily visible but tried arguing I had taken every reasonable effort to ensure a ticket was displayed.

I can send a photo of the ticket but just wondering if it is worth it. Reassuring to see some challenges are actually successful!

I appealed and won in fairly similar circumstances

We used to live in a road with resident permit parking. It snowed heavily overnight and a traffic warden came round about 7am and ticketed the whole street as our permits weren't clearly visible

Appealed and won

I also appealed, sent a copy of my ticket, they cancelled it.

DH appealed and sent the ticket and won.

Thanks all that answered. Am going to send a copy if the ticket and reiterate the fact I took all reasonable effort to display the ticket. Wish me luck!
