DD is at University and had just let me know that she broke her arm playing football. She will need a scribe for exams and help with remaining practical work. She is very worried as was planning to earn money during holidays to supplement her student loan. There was a 2K shortfall between student loan and hall fees this year. She will not be able to do shelf stacking etc now for at least a few months and may need an operation.
The accident was no-one's fault. She fell clumsily. My question is whether it would be reasonable or feasible to claim from insurance. The match was arranged by her student hall on astroturf pitch not owned by university. Would either the pitch owner or hall of residence be insured? I am not thrilled with the idea of pursuing this, but DD is feeling desperate and want to help if I can.
