That's it really. My DD has just started at a new school and I don't want to get things all confused by changing my name and title. She's only little, and I want to make things easier on her. Would rather still be called Mrs Ickywicky IYSWIM. Problem is for work etc. I kept maiden name, and socially was Mrs Ickywicky ...... Hmmmm.

You can call yourself whatever you like. There is no legal requirement to either take the husbands name or to jettison it.

You can call yourself Mrs Brad Pitt if ou want :-)

As long as it isn't for fraudulent purposes it is up to you. There is no need for any deed poll or anyhing.

I changed to Ms! Well that was the second time, when we had a DC, the first time, I just notified people I wanted to change to my maiden name.

Now though, I have two young children with my DP and am thinking of either marrying him or changing my name to his and our DC.
