My friend who has 6 and is expecting 7th has a Ford Tourneo. My friends who wanted a 7th but only have 6 DC used to drive a modified Transit van -- both 9 seaters.
I just acquired my own bus (a mere 7 seater) and I look on at my friends in awe...
Maybe Juule will see this, I can't remember who else on MN has 7+.

Yes, I think a van would be the only option.....and I think DH would rather eat his own vomit

How many do you have now and what are you driving for them? (Nosy Q)

Can't really help you, Dotty.

We have a VW Golf. Couldn't afford anything bigger and dh needs the car for work. We have to work around that. Double trips, mix of car and public transport, that sort of thing. I can't really say that it's a big problem just a bit inconvenient now and then.

Sorry, couldn't have been of more help.

We have 6. I don't drive (could be choose not to) We have a Mercedes Viano 8 seater. I've been having thoughts of a 7th baby and to my utter amazement, DH doesn't exactly seem opposed to the idea, yet he moaned quite a lot when looking for a car large enough for a 6th baby. TBH, I can't really see it happening but thought it couldn't hurt to do a bit of research It would be such a shame if we decided against simply because of a vehicle issue....

juuule - that does sound like a bit of a pain. Public transport here is DIRE, we'd never manage.

I drive a landrover county station wagon which has 12 seats. A bit cumbersome, but somehow never wanted a minibus! It is ancient and looks well lived-in..

Dotty, what is the viano like, have been thinking that soon we can downsize and thought the viano looked really nice?

Havn't got a large family (1 actually ), but I am a CM, with a Mazda Bongo, 8 seater, it has loads of room, can get a double and a single buggy in the boot, can store wellies and waterproofs under the seats, and can get 3 car seats accross the back and middle seats.

The only thing I wish I hyad done when I bought it, would have been to have the seat belts for the middle seats moved and the seats turned around so they were backing onto the front seats, saves pulling the middle seats forward to get into the back and means the Littlest ones would always have been reversed.

mumtoxii I'd forgotten but DH and I did talk about one of those a while back (though I didn't realise you could get 12 seaters!) But we do quite a lot of long drives, not sure how comfy that would be?

The Viano is very nice indeed! Large comfy leather seats etc, we bought it when it was 12 months old, must have cost a bomb new as it has all kinds of extras, it's enormous with huge boot etc.

Thanks for that Dottyaboutstripes. We will have to save up before we can think about it!

Two years ago I drove nine of us up to Scotland and it was comfortable enough for me, but don't think the ones right in the back liked it too much. Thank goodness for ipods...

I have 8 children and drive an 8 seater Toyota previa...not enough seats for the whole family but the older ones don't come out with us much anymore and DP has 2 seater work van that we can use of need be.

I would recommend a previa..much roomier than the galaxies etc..bigger boot and leg room.

Previa no good as we do all go out together and often

But have heard good things about them - having said that, we didn't want anything with bench seats

But your family could fit in an 8 seater though.

bench seats are fab..you can fit tons of shopping and stuff between children then!!!
