Family hotel breaks for 5 near impossible !!!1

Hi Im looking for help im trying to book a hotel break in London but finding it impossible to find a hotel to cater for 2 adults and 3 kids (aged 14,12,&3)
can anyone recommend any hotel that caters for this that isnt going to cost a fortune !!!! :0

Can you not get two adjacent rooms - one for the older two and one family one for you and the littlie ?

I think hotels in London do cost a fortune :(

Have you tried one of those last minute type websites, you can put in how many of you there are and that you want one room and it will find you a hotel to match your request. We've got a hotel in Folkestone like this, I've given up phoning around now our youngest is 4 it's a nightmare.

try here they have a drop down box top left and you can select 'room sleeps' and one of the options is 2 adults 3 children.

We have this. My older two are 9/11 so too young to not be adjoining. Last few stays in travelodges have been with a double bed settee for them which was tiny & didn't really work either!

when they are too young for an adjoining roomon their own the only option I can see is to have one parent in each room. Not ideal but better than nothing.

We have done the squeeze into a travel lodge with 2 adults and 3 kids - not sure we can do it much more now they are 8-10.

The world is not designed for families bigger than 2+2.

wow - just tried the link LIW gave - randomly picked 1 night - mon 18 Jul for London - only one place had space for 2+3 children - at a price of £382 !!!

This is probably why I have never tried to stay in London with the whole family :(

Try phoning the hotels themselves. We have been given 2 interconnecting rooms for the price of one at a Holiday Inn before. Hilton give a second room for kids for 1/2 price. Or try a Youth Hostel, they have family rooms.

We recently tried to stay at Salford quays at the weekend. All hotels said they font do family rooms!

Our problem re adult in each room is dd1/2 wouldn't share with dh ( ge isn't their dad) and dd3 has to be with me for feeding.

Thanks for your replies i tried a Premier inn in london as we need 2 rooms they come back with £621 rediculous !!!!!!! I've lookes on the rooms for 5 website thanks they have a few reasonably priced ones :)

First post! Woo! I am in a similar situation. Me and DP have 5 children between us, and are getting married next month, and needed accommodation for all of us for our wedding night at a reasonable price.
Our solution has been to book 2 Travel lodge family rooms with the hope that they'll be together and we can leave the eldest child in charge and take baby monitors with us. If that doesn't work out, it'll be one adult per room on our wedding night!!! Oh well!
If it's a case of you and three. Places like travel lodge do specify a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids, but with the use of a ready bed for the littlest, I'm sure you could bend the rules a bit and get you all in...
I think, as was mentioned before, it's a universal problem once you get above the 2+2 formula! Apartment renting sounds like a good option too! :)
