Anyone know when about I will start?

Probably a stupid question, but am due on this week. My clinic shuts for a few days (think from Xmas eve to After Boxing Day but not sure)
I’m on long protocol so will start down reg on day 21 which takes me into December, I’ve timed that none of my scans/collections are over Xmas. So will just be down reg then start stimms the week of Xmas.
Will they tell me I can’t start now because of Christmas getting in the way? Don’t want to get my hopes up.

Hi, I’ve come across other people in a similar situation and they’ve been down regged for a bit longer so they start stims after the holiday closures are over. Maybe they will suggest something similar. I’d call them and check. Good luck with the treatment!

Sorry to be a potential bearer of bad news. It seems unlikely they’ll risk it. I can only go by my timings: I started to downreg like you will on day 21. On the tenth day of injections I had a bleed. The clinic wanted to see me 7 days later for a scan to check I was down regulated. I think that will be the scan, assuming the protocol is the same, that might fall over the Christmas period for you, if my maths isn’t shocking. Following that scan, when down regulation was confirmed, I was allowed to start the stimulation drugs that evening. I think it is expected that 8-14 days is the typical range for stimulation, with an average of 11-12. If you don’t need the scan to confirm down-regulation, hopefully you can process asap.

We were with Oxford and I think they don’t let you start your cycle on particular weeks so egg collection/embryo transfer can’t fall over Christmas...

Sorry :( I remember what it’s like when you just want to get started xx
