Bloated and sore after transfer - help please

I had my 4th egg collection the day before yesterday and I feel very bloated and tender. It's uncomfortable to bend over and going over speed bumps in the car or sudden movements are too. It's not pain per se, just very uncomfortable. The feeling is in my whole abdomen and doesn't seem to be fading.

I wouldn't be concerned but on my 3 other collections I've been uncomfortable on the day of it and a bit the day after but then totally fine, so this is unexpected for me.

I'm a poor responder and my ovaries are also very difficult to access because of endo so I don't get many eggs. On my last 3 collections I got 0, 2 then 1 eggs. This time I got 4 and now we're looking at doing a day 5 transfer on Monday, so it's going well so far (for me anyway - it's all relative!).

I'm just worried that this is going to affect transfer somehow. I looked at the symptoms of OHSS and the bloating / tenderness is one, but I'm not sure if it's possible to get OHSS if you only get a few eggs. Does anyone know if that's a thing?

And even if it was OHSS would that have a negative impact on transfer?

I'm just a total ball of anxiety and this is an added thing keeping me awake at night now. Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

You're experiencing very normal things. All collections are different. My 1st one I was absolutely fine. 2nd one, fine the next day then had 24 hours of reaalllly bad pain and was still sore 2 weeks later.
OHSS shouldn't effect you because of your low amh and there is no reason why it should effect transfer either. I'm sure you will feel much better in 5 days time.
Give it another day and call your clinic if you're still worried. I'd take some paracetamol, rest and enjoy the time being able to lift things and drink coffee before you can't for a while (hopefully 9 months ).

Hi sorry to hear you're in discomfort. I don't know if you're a fan of it but it may worth having accupunture to try to reduce the swelling. I was Also advised you drinks tons of water to flush out your system of the drugs before the transfer. Good luck 😉

Sorry I've just realised I've put after transfer in the title. I meant egg collection. My tired hormonal brain isn't working!

Thanks for the responses. I'm probably just worrying over nothing. It's reassuring that you've had different experiences with your egg collections @AliceAbsolum.

I also have an acupuncture session booked for Monday @wallymum so maybe that will help. I'm drinking loads of fluids. I'm probably just being paranoid. I don't mind the discomfort generally, it's more the worry that it might negatively affect the transfer.

I had egg collection Monday this week and lm still in discomfort. I’ve drank lots, taken paracetamol etc. It’s particularly bad when l bend or need the toilet. Normally l have a good pain threshold but l suppose it’s the swollen ovaries and them then poking around inside us both!

Hi @Iwouldbecomplex I had egg collection on Wednesday and am still very uncomfortable as you describe, whole abdomen, I feel like I'm being stretched inside - and poor @EL8888 too since Monday, hope you're okay soon!
I'm assuming they had to poke a lot as all the sonographers commented on one of my ovaries being a bit hidden.

I don't think it has any bearing on transfer, and hopefully you'll be more comfortable by then.

My clinic won't transfer if you have OHSS as it reduces chance of implantation and also if you do have hcg in your system if you get pregnant it can dangerous as can cause the OHSS to get worse - what were your estrogen levels before collection?

This is all quite reassuring thank you. They do have to pole around a lot with me and my right ovary was completely inaccessible this time. I just usually recover so quickly!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I don't know what my estrogen levels were - my clinic don't do bloods during stims.
