Secondary infertility and crap GP

Hello
I'm struggling to get pregnant again. My age is against me - I'm 39.
I've had the blood test at day 1 and 21 (though my cycle is only 26 days) and I've just booked to see the GP again to see what my next options are and they don't have another appointment for nearly another month!! I can't get a sit and wait appointment as 'it's not an emergency'
Sitting on the floor very upset at this crappy service and feeling very hormonal having just started my period again 😢
I'm looking for advice - should I go private? Where do I go? What do they do? Be grateful for some hand holding and some recommendations as to where to go for investigations and advice. I'm based in the southeast.
Thank so much

To be fair if you have a child the GP will be able to do very little to help: ask for a copy of your blood test results and take them to a private clinic open evening. The clinic I went to let you book a free 20 minutes with the consultant which was very helpful and kick started everything for us. Good luck

What so because I have a child the NHS won't investigate secondary infertility?

@lostlondoner
It's not that they won't take it seriously it's just that other than the standard tests they have already given you - as you won't be eligible for IVF on the NHS - they know that it doesn't really matter to them whether your results come back good or bad?

If you can I would go private and have a fertility MOT done at an ivf clinic

In your position I would go private for sure. I have suffered from secondary infertility myself and wouldn’t expect my GP to do anything other than the standard blood tests, and I (and you) wouldn’t be eligible for anymore any way. It’s a really crap situation to be in but the NHS is on its knees and people with primary infertility often don’t get much help either.

It's shit, I struggled to conceive after getting pregnant with DC1 first month of trying at 35 Confused I've finally got pregnant again at 39 and the only thing that I did differently was to have sex very early in my also 26 day cycle. So days 7 & 9.

I can't offer any help with GP as I never went, but I just wanted to say I do know a few friends who have really struggled with getting pregnant second time. GP told both to relax, try exercise less caffeine, vitamins, less alcohol and they could try complementary therapies acupuncture or that pressure point one ( can't remember the name I haven't done any of these)
