AF after freeze all cycle

Hi everyone.

I’ve just completed my first ivf cycle which has ended up as a freeze all as I’m at risk of OHSS. EC was last Thursday (15th) and af has arrived this evening. I am sure the doctor told me to expect it 10-14 days after EC so less than 7 days feels super short. I am now questioning if I remembered what the doctor said correctly as I was a bit spaced out after the procedure. Could anyone share their experience?

The clinic said I could schedule the FET for this next cycle so now I’m wondering if I’ll have to wait if my body is still recovering.

Thanks!

Probably best to double check with your clinic, but I had to have a ‘proper’ period/full cycle - so the one after the post-retrieval bleed.

I had a post egg collection bleed/period about 5 days after collection which apparently is the norm and then got my proper period about 2 weeks after that

Thanks both. I’ve just spoken to the clinic and they have said to wait until my next one. If I’m honest with myself, my boobs are still sore following the EC so I think my body definitely needs time to recover. It’s frustrating but I’d rather wait and give myself the best chance.

I did short protocol mild ivf so no down reg so my cycle came back almost straight away - from day of egg collection to transfer was about 6 weeks

If you do full ivf it can take a bit longer to get your cycle back x

I ended up having a 6 month gap which was really frustrating but honestly the best thing. Just take the time to look after yourself and feel better in time for transfer. Good luck OP!
