When is your first scan with an IVF pregnancy?

Hi just got my positive on my second round of IVF. We are very overwhelmed and now wondering when our first scan will be to confirm it all? Lots of anxiety as never expected it to work. Proper chuffed to bits had strong positives from day 5 after transfer

Anyone who has gone through IVF how long did you have to wait for first scan

Thanks all

Xx

First time at 6 weeks, 2nd time at 6+5. Your clinic will book you in around 6-7 weeks, the waiting is a killer.

Mine is booked for 7 weeks - I’m a nervous wreck. I think I’d mentally prepared myself for ivf to fail and it was such a shock to get a positive but now I feel so scared it’s going to be taken away. 2 more weeks to wait.

6-7w

I went at Think 6w but was too soon to see/hear the heart but could see the sac

Was told to come back a few days later

And when we did the sound of our babies beating heart and seeing it flicker across the screen was just amazing !!!

7 weeks.

It's worth waiting as you'll be more certain to see a heartbeat

It depends. In some trusts if it’s an NHS cycle your first scan will be 12 weeks. In others you have a viability scan between 6-7 weeks prior to the NHS transfer.

7 weeks, but I had a big bleed so went to EPU at 6+3 and saw a heartbeat then.

@Teddybear45 for an ivf pregnancy?? I had documents that said for an ivf pregnancy an early viability scan was mandatory from the hfea
