Can pcos make a pregnancy test come back negative when pregnant?

I've just been told pcos can cause negative pregnancy tests? Is this true?

I'm usually a little irregular but not too bad I've been on a diet and been exercising taking vitamins. I'm coming up to seven weeks now without a period and tests still negative

Little unsure what to do? As now been told test can be effected by pcos anyone know if it's true? Getting really anxious about it all as I feel different

I don't see how it could as pregnancy tests are based on a hormone produced by the placenta

It’s more likely to cause false positive ovulation tests but not pregancy tests x

I have never heard of it affecting a pregnancy test.

PCOS can affect ovulation tests and you can get false results on those - perhaps the person who told you that got the two tests muddled.

They said there ovulation was later than it was predicted so their pregnancy test didn't come up positive till a few weeks later but thanks everyone I'm guessing it's probably just a late one this month thanks for the advice

@sapphiregrace - that's why a period would be late. You can ovulate late and because the time between ov and af is static, af will be late. You cannot get pregnant without ovulating - so if you ovulate late it's not a false negative, it's that you aren't pregnant but might become pregnant later in the cycle, if that makes sense.... or not that cycle.
