I can’t stop thinking what else there going to say to us, so to keep it short I will explain what’s already happened, me and my partner have been trying for a baby for well over a year now, my partner went for sperm test, that came back low, I have been for bloods, scans, hsg everything has come back fine 🤨 I’ve got a follow up appointment again on Monday, I’ve no idea what there going to say to me, so scared they will say they nothing more they can do because they is nothing wrong with me as such..... has anybody been in the same situation and what happens next? We can’t have ivf on nhs because my partner has a child, will they try us on any medication? Everything is going round in my head..... any help will be much appreciated 😘

How low is low re sperm count? My DHs is so disastrously low and poor quality we were told we'd never conceive naturally and went straight to ICSI (IVF). If you DP has fathered a child before perhaps his count isn't THAT low and lifestyle adjustments/supplements might help.

I can’t remember the number they said now 🙉 I don’t think it was extremely low... ohh no really ☹️ That’s not the best news you could have got ☹️ I hope everything works out for you 😘 .... do they suggest supplements ? I’m thinking about everything that much I put myself in a right mood, I’ve been so moody for over a week now because it’s getting closer ☹️☹️ Xx

Sorry I can’t help much but I’m in the same position too - sperm had low everything and they’ve found i have one blocked tube too. Next appointment is so far away too.

I’m guessing if it’s just a speed issue for you then there’s lots that can be done! Do you know what’s causing it? Dh has a varicocele which will need surgery and might up our chances a bit.

Unfortunately for us it's not just speed. We also have motility and morphology issues. Consultant basically told us it couldn't really be much worse except to have no sperm Sad We are very fortunate to have our son-one baby from five rounds of IVF, just going into round two trying for a sibling now.

I know many people who've had hsg which has sort of cleared out the blocked tube so keep trying, you never know!

If I were you I'd push for surgery on the varicele, make some lifestyle changes and keep trying especially in the immediate post-hsg months to see if you can manage naturally, but also start saving to pay for IVF if necessary

Supplements wise for the male side I think Condensyl is recommended

DH has no count whatsoever, even after supplements and quitting smoking still nada, no blockages anywhere either. We only recently found out Dr Ramsay runs clinics at our local clinic, but we may lool into seeing him privately at some point

@kanissmellark thank you! Hsg couldn’t flush it through but no sign of infection at any point, never had surgery or anything so not sure what would be causing it.
Most worrying was that sperm motility was 8% which really sounds like it’s very unlikely it’ll happen naturally. Had two chemical pregnancies in the last 18months though.

@stacey2007 I hope your journey is as straightforward as it can be from here...keep positive!
