Fluids in tubes and uterus?

Hi All,

Went for a scan today after egg collection two days ago due to fluids in my uterus and it turns out there’s still fluid in my uterus which means it’s going to have to be FET which will be in atleast two months.

During the scan the nurse said she could see fluids in my Fallopian tube which she’s saying she needs to refer to the doctor to confirm. If it is fluids there then that’s bad as I will either have to remove the tube or close it. I had a hycosy last year which showed both tubes as clear and patent. Could fluids have gathered in a few months or could this be due to the meds?

I’m really worried as I already have fibroids and don’t need more things working against me.

Any insights would be great.

Thank you

Hi there,

First of all, I’d like to reassure you about having to freeze all. This happened to me as they said I was overstimulated and I was soooo upset....I’d been geared up for a fresh transfer. However I came round to accepting it and was encouraged by people saying that fets have better success rates. My first fet has resulted in pregnancy and I am 16 weeks.

I’m not too sure about the fluid. After egg collection my consultant did mention I had a lot of fluid due to the over stimulation but that it would correct itself and get back to normal as my body recovered? No further action had to be taken. I hope this will be the case for you too x

Thank you @windy2909. I'm getting my head round to FET now but it's just the fluids the nurse said she potentially saw in my tubes that's really scaring me. Having to potentially remove one tube is quite sad and time to heal would mean I may not have FET soon. They are going to rescan me on Monday and see how it goes. At this point I don't mind FET just need the fluids in tubes to be a fluke

Hi I had EC in Tuesday and was told the same thing - On the left hand side.....except that’s impossible as I had that tube removed last year due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I know I have a cyst on that side so I’m hoping that’s what they saw.

If it is fluid - or hydrosalpinx as it’s called it’s better to have it removed - the fluid is very toxic and can cause miscarriage. Also if you are still trying naturally it can cause ectopics

Thanks @CCS83 I went back for a rescan and the fluid in the uterus was gone and the doctor could not see any fluids in the tubes which is great! I went ahead with the embryos transfer
