Looking for advice - 2 year TTC and 2 Miscarriages on Clomid

Hi all,

I’m hoping for some advice and other people’s experiences....

Me (29) and DH (32) have been TTC #1 for just over 2 years now. We have been for fertility invesitigations and was advised my progesterone was low but it would be classed as ‘unexplained’.

In November 2017 we were prescribed 6 rounds of Clomid. We got pregnant on the first round but sadly had a MC at 5 weeks. We’ve had a few breaks between but in May 2018 I took my final round of 50mg Clomid and we got pregnant. Sadly today we have found it’s ended in a MC (again at 5 weeks).

Can we request further investigations on the NHS?
Can we still get referred for IVF? (At our last appointment we were suppose to get our referral in April 2018 for IVF but were told we had to wait till November 2018 now, which will be 12months since our MC). To add to the upset of the MC I’m terrified they’ll tell us we have to wait and try naturally for another year, making it June 2019 until we can get IVF referral!

Any advice and shared experiences would be really appreciated.

If you see a private gaenocologist they could prescribe both clomid and progesterone pessiaries (the kind IVF clinics do). It probably won’t be cheap but might be quicker than waiting for an NHS cycle.
