Where to buy IVF Drugs

Hello, we're just about to embark on our 4th IVF cycle. We'll be using Gonal F (In the form of the pen rather than powder) and Cetrotide. I've just called Asda for their prices. Can anyone recommend anywhere else to buy the drugs

Asda Prices

900u Pen - £282
300u Pen - £94.00
Cetrotide - £22.61 each

Many thanks

There is a company called Fertility2u and they are online

In am using Stork Fertility and it worked out cheaper than Asda but this may be because my clinic has a discount scheme

Try Boots. I found the prices similar to Asda for most drugs and you can collect advantage card points.

Sorry to sound thick- but don't you have to get the drugs from the clinic?
That's what we did last cycle and was planning again this cycle.

Any saving we could get would be amazing

Thanks all

Wow if we could get from boots & add to our points that would be fab! Will definitely check that out

Drinkyourmilk - you can get from the clinic and the clinic actively encourage this as they’ll usually take a cut, however you can ask for a private prescription and source it yourselves. We saved about £250 last year by buying all of our drugs from Asda x

Well I bought my drugs from Asda today and saved more than £400 from the cost the clinic gave me. Only problem was Asda couldn’t source gonasi (trigger shot) and old pregnyl has been discontinued.

So ordered everything but the trigger shot, called the clinic & found out that Stork (the company the provides drugs to the clinic) have exclusivity of this drug!!! The nurse said they are trying to stop people sourcing their own drugs and instead be forced into buying theirs at massively inflated prices.

The pharmacist at Asda said that the cost of the Gonasi is around £9 for 3 x shots. Stork are charging £25 per shot - you need two so that’s £50 rather than £9!

Cheeky fuckers!! Angry

Hello I found ASDA the cheapest but Boots matched and I got quite a lot of loyalty points too, especially as I got a double points voucher which worked! That was for a fresh cycle. Having a frozen cycle soon and went straight to Asda this time as cheaper only £108 tried fertility to 2 u and they wanted about £150, general online pharmacy was easier if you wanted an online option. The first time round we saved around £300 not buying from care, was a hassle but paying so much wanted to reduce it if I could and was pretty much the only way, good luck!

Yes I had to buy the trigger from clinic too

I researched the cost of all the drugs individually across a range of pharmacies. Asda were cheapest for some of the drugs on my prescription but Stork & my clinic were the by far cheapest for most things. There was a £400 difference between the best & most expensive quotes.

I found Asda cheapest for Norethisterone & Prostap. Stork were much cheaper than anywhere else for Gonal F & Ovitrelle though. They could also provide them straight away while local pharmacies or supermarkets had to source & order them.

I spent a lot of time looking into this & couldn't find anywhere to compete with Asda & Stork. Will be interested to know if anyone does.

My clinic told me I was free to take my prescription anywhere but that it was unlikely I'd find cheaper than using them via Stork. They were right.

Stork were by far the cheapest for me too, my clinic uses them but gave me the option to source my own too

@CountryCob How long in advance did you have to give your prescription to Boots to give you the Gonal-F?

@AniSL and all

Could someone post the storck website as I googled for Stork Fertility but I couldn't find something selling drugs such as Gonal-F.

Apologies if I missed it.

I did get a quote last year from Fertility2U when I was considering treatment abroad (although I think they had a link to the clinic so may have been cheaper).

I appreciate you have bought yours, but in case anyone is looking at the prices, in September they had quoted me £48.00 for the 300u pen, £144.00 each for the 900u pen and £15 each for the cetrotide, with delivery on top.
