I'd love some mumsnet wisdom.
DH is 43, I'm 40. We have one DD aged 4.5. We've been trying for around three years for baby no.2 and have had two miscarriages in the last two years, at 9 and 7 weeks.
We live overseas and aren't completely fluent in the language so haven't felt comfortable talking to the local doctor. We are close to a very good IVF clinic (who offer services in English) and contacted them to see whether they might be able to give us some advice. They refuse to offer anything other than a full 3-4 hour consultation with internal exams, sperm donation, blood tests, etc.
I just don't feel ready for all that and really just want some advice about what our options might be. Is IVF even right if we can get pregnant but can't stay pregnant?
I feel so naive about all this and I guess have just been hoping that it will happen for us, but don't want to leave it to chance much longer because of my age.
I'd love some advice - I'm not sure what to do next.
