IVF failures and things to improve - advice needed!!

In end of 2015, DH and I decided to try for a baby after 2 years of marriage. He had a failed vasectomy reversal so we had to go down the IVF path. I was 31 in Jun 2016 when I started my first IVF, and only 6 eggs were retrieved in my first cycle. My FSH was 8.4. FET x 2 failed.

We changed FS in Sept 2016 and had 3 more ECs. Details are as below.

Sept 16 - 3 eggs retrieved, none made to blasto
Oct 16 - 8 eggs retrieved, 1 blasto

Read a book called ‘it starts with the egg’ which had a huge impact on me. I stopped using chemical / fragrance products and switched to natural products including household cleaners, shower gels and facial cream etc. I also changed most kitchenware from plastic to stainless steel or glass.

I also started Accupuncture once a week.

Nov 16 - 7 eggs retrieved, 4 blastos
Dec 16 - Hysteroscopy done to remove polyps
Feb 17- D5 FET, BFP but m/c at 5 weeks
Apr 17 - D5 FET, BFP but m/c at 5 weeks

My FS then suggested another round of EC and PGS to detect any chromosomal abnormalities as she believed that was the cause of the miscarriages. My FSH was 10.02.

May 17 - 12 eggs retrieved, 3 blastos
Jun 17 - 10 eggs retrieved, 3 blastos

7 blastos were sent for PGS, 5 came back normal.

Sept 17 - D5 FET, BFN

Talked to FS in detail, we also did some researches on other possibilities including immune problem. FS suggested Clexane and Steroid to suppress my immune system.

Dec 17 - D5 FET, awaiting result but not optimistic

Today is 6 dp5dt and I am feeling a bit different. Yesterday I had a bad cramp and today all pregnancy symptoms I was experiencing in the first few days are gone, such as nausea and hunger. This is how I felt in my last BFN in Sept.

I was saying to DH yesterday that I don’t know what else I can do to make it work if it doesn’t this time. I know it’s still early to say but I’m getting really frustrated and just don’t have the energy to keep living my life like this.

Sorry for such a long post and any opinion is welcome.

Has your DH had a sperm DNA fragmentation test? Have you had any uterine environment and immune tests or just the meds given? Is your clinic thorough and successful? Those are the things I'd be looking at.

Hi JoJoSM2, thanks for your reply and no, we haven’t had these tests done and I was just given the meds. Ill def talk to my FS to see if we can get these all checked before the next FET.

Best of luck. It's been a pretty horrible 'journey' (hate the word) for you so I wouldn't get brushed off with putting it down to 'bad luck'.
