Anyone had clexane during IVF?

Hi all,

I have had two failed NHS ICSI cycles and recently had a consultation at a new clinic, where the consultant recommended me taking Clexane in the next round. Have any of you had this drug? The consultant just said that it might improve chances of implantation, but didn't say what it did? Anyone know what it does? Anyone had success with it? The doctors don't really know why our rounds failed as we had top quality day 5 embryos transferred each time and everything was textbook, so I'm hoping that Clexane might increase our chances next time. Would love to hear some stories.

Many thanks and best wishes to all

I had clexane during ivf and during my pregnancy until after the 20 week scan because I had a history of recurrent miscarriage and blood tests showed that I might have something called antiphospholipid syndrome.

Clexane is a blood thinner and there seemed to be some thought that it would help implantation

It is an injection that you give yourself daily but if you have been undergoing ivf you may be used to giving yourself injections.

I don't know whether or not it helped but after a number of losses and unsuccessful rounds of ivf it seemed worth a go. I don't remember there being any worries about side effects though I did occasionally get some bruises at the injection sites

Hope that helps

I used it on my successful ivf cycle. They told me it would help implantation and also help to prevent miscarriage. It stings a bit and you will probably bruise from it but it just becomes like all the other injections. I was on it until I was 12 weeks pregnant.

Yes me too I had it till around 34+ weeks, had a healthy baby boy by IVF + immune treatment after lots of failed cycles. Good luck!
