Had a scratch on Tuesday in advance of FET this month and consultant said they could see some 'milky white discharge' which may indicate BV, so has put me on antibs for 5 days. As far as I was concerned previous to this, had been completely asymptomatic.

  1. Could she have mistaken DHs leftovers for this (we DTD day before)?

  1. Do any of you avoid shower gels etc to prevent BV? I was using imperial leather but switched to sanex today (figure it's less perfumed etc so less likely to disrupt ph)

TIA Blush

I've had BV and trust me you KNOW you have it. Especially after DTD.
I would stick to the sanex regardless. Did they swab you? I was swabbed despite the obvious knock out symptoms

You're better just to wash around there with water alone, even the mildest shower gel can disrupt the normal flora.

No, she said no point swabbing as often comes back negative. I have had zero symptoms, no crazy discharge / smell....I don't even know what the other symptoms are Hmm

I've read a lot of Americans have this prescribed pre IVF as it can make sure everything is nice and 'clean'/healthy for implantation, so will take regardless, just a bit odd.
