Thinking of how unhelpful the US were over G8 and the environment and are so set against signing up to Kyoto this report is intersting as it shows how they might HAVE to go green.

I hope so - oil is so cheap there at the moment that people drive cars the size of tanks as a general rule and waste so much. They seem to thing recycling is silly and a waste of time.

Fingers crossed maybe things might have to change

I doubt it. Bearing in mind that, up until G8, the US administration was still denying that global warming even exists, I think it's really good that they've now got them to talk about it. Might seem like a little but I think it work out to mean a lot.

Bush refused to sit down at the G8 talks about the environment until they scrapped the first line of the proposal - 'the earth is getting warmer.' Who advises Bush on this? David Bellamy?

Never, he reversed laws in Texas while Governor, laws that helped the environment.
result Texas became one of the most polluted states- suposedly .
I'm afraid business is king with old Bush, nothing elese means anything.
