That is so sad, that family should be having the happiest days of their lives but instead they are having the worst.

That is very sad news. I was at the Royal Alexandra Hospital just this evening, and the press were there.

dizzydixies Mon 15-Jun-09 21:38:58

RAH staff haven't had the easiest time recently with last year's involvement with the Glasgow Airport bombing and then this

bargainhuntingbetty Mon 15-Jun-09 21:41:52

That is so sad. When I heard about the mother dying I tought 'that is so sad but at least the family have the baby she will live on in and they will have the baby to ease it slightly for them' this is so tragic. Poor, poor family sad

How awful I wonder how early he was.

It's a shame in a way they can't say what type of health problems the mum had - I'm sure a lot of pregnant women out there are terrified wondering if it's a complication they could have and then contract flu. Obviously the family has a right to privacy and they seem to have waived that in some ways to let her name be released but it'd be perhaps reassuring if she had a massively rare problem which was unlikely to affect many others.

How terrible, may God bless them and their family, my heart goes out to them, what an awful time.

Tortoise Mon 15-Jun-09 21:47:01

WMMC Report says 11 weeks early.

bigstripeytiger Mon 15-Jun-09 21:48:14

It says here that she may have had a stroke:

Ah missed that bit Tortoise - thank you. That's really early isn't it? In preemie terms I mean - 29 weeks?

Bigstripeytiger - thanks for that - a stroke - but she was only 38! shock I guess it does happen though.

Poor children left behind (and her partner of course)

bargainhuntingbetty Mon 15-Jun-09 21:51:30

My dh has just said that he heard she had suffered strokes.
