so why is Sir Alan Sugar being called Lord Sugar?

Tinker Fri 05-Jun-09 13:14:19

Because he's been given a peerage today.

FabulousBakerGirl Fri 05-Jun-09 13:22:45

Oh goodness. How did I miss that?

My BIL is going to PHSL.

giantkatestacks Fri 05-Jun-09 13:24:01

he has to have the peerage to take up the new job...

callalilies Fri 05-Jun-09 13:24:57

So he can't be called 'suralan' any more then? Shame! grin

Tinker Fri 05-Jun-09 13:25:32

Will he be Lordsugar?

giantkatestacks Fri 05-Jun-09 13:26:36

lordalan sounds like a cheap clothes emporium so maybe that will work...

JimmyMcNulty Fri 05-Jun-09 13:43:21

Can't believe he's been made a lord! Still, Caligula made his horse a senator so I suppose there's precedent.

Yes next year they'll all have to all him Lord Sugar. You know he'll insist on it.

JimmyMcNulty Fri 05-Jun-09 16:25:57
