i always find stories like this interesting

Me too - I was fascinated by the BBC covering the six different births. It all sounded ghastly whereever they were which in lots of ways was reassuring.

Actually I've just re-read them and they don't all sound ghastly, it was just had the 36 hour labour in a hut in Laos story which stuck in my memory...

oh i've been "covering" this for work..and meant to post it ages ago when the babies were born. they're so inspiring...

I thought the Ethiopian woman's tale, about not being able to keep her baby, was very sad.

And the Laos woman's total lack of interest from her husband.
