This story has really upset me.
I am so glad they have caught the guy responsible - hope he gets what he deserves (although he probably wont.) The poor little boys family will suffer forever, and he will be out of prison within a few years. Its just not fair.

Poor little boy - how horribly Airguns are so dangerous - largely because people think they're not.

My DS is 2 as well - can't begin to imagine what his Mum and Dad must be going through.

His brother is 13 I think - but when he ran home to say something had happened to the little one the mother said "what have you done, did you drop him on his head?" - hope to god he doesn't feel in any way responsible, poor lamb. (I can really identify with her, it's the way I have often reacted when an accident has happened.)

There is a shop in the town I live that sells these damn things. I am terrified at the thought of the idiots that live around here with airguns as this is the kind of horror they would get up to (sectarian, benefit scrounging neds who ruin the town that is.)

One neighbour has a crossbow, he was practising in his garden one summer - a crossbow FFS! He has 4 kids under the age of 10.

I hope this cretin who murdered this poor baby boy is thrown in jail as he won't make it out! Maybe this will get the regulations tightened, what do you need airguns for anyway?

about the crossbow, first - its too dangerous to practice in the garden even if you got no kids, secondly - the guy should have a licence and third - ive got a bow and arrows as i do archery and i - if i want to - use it in a field or woods - as long i carry my licence.

I agree that they should be banned. We have got an air rifle, but haven't used it since we moved to a town.We used to do target shooting in our fields with it,but that is something that I'd not think twice about giving up if it stopped them being available to idiots like this.
