Ooooooooh, he's a spy or a double agent for some ultra secret government thingy (been watching too much Alias)

Think if he was a spy he would have figured kidnapping his daughter would have blown his cover - what a conceited man to think that he could commit a huge crime and then disappear and it not be found out when he comitted another huge crime years later!

How awful too for his XW to find out she was married to a complete looney and a murderer to boot.

Creepy.

But in that photo on the link - is he wearing one of those false noses and glasses you get in a joke shop?

What is it with rich people and weirdness?

ooh how odd

We arrived late in Boston the day of this abduction and all the motorway gantrys and other signs had "Amber alert, looking for black SUV with Red Sox stickers and Plates heading xxx" can't remember the rest

Apparently in the states they broadcast on all these signs in the event of child abduction and it has meant that many more children are found in teh first 24hours. Apparently they are mooting doing it here.

It is rather sobering to think of some poor little mite snatched and whisked off in a black SUV - I was very relieved to hear it was her father who had taken her when I got home.

Yes CD - it's the thing the McCanns are campaigning for across Europe.

We saw it worked wrongly when we were there in California. A father rang police and said his car had been stolen with his daughter in the back. Cue amber alert, newsflashes, etc. Followed some while later by news of an arrest of the man who had indeed had car stolen but knew police would react more quickly if they thought a child was inside

sueW - surely that is a punishable offence.

'They can do what they like with it, but he doesn't remember' ????? WTF?

If that's how you get away with things I'm going to stop paying all my bills on the basis that I can't remember running these debts up.

That is a crap defence. Even my kids come up with better excuses than that!

Or he could just say 'I don't know!' - that is a fave one in our house - what would the police say back - well go to your room until you know?
