DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) Donations for Asian Tsunami/Earthquake

Just seen one of the co-ordinators on TV. Their 3,000 lines are swamped. Asking people also to donate online (but I haven't managed to get onto the site yet!).

You can also donate across the counter at all banks and post offices

As so many people on here want to donate its a pity there couldn't have been some way to donate collectively through mumsnet.

This wasn't possible because of Christmas - there simply wasn't anyone around to sort it out. If there's still a desire for it into January, they said they'd look at donating via their subscription facility.

Fimbo- this was looked at- here as you can see if we give as individuals then the appeal will benefit from GiftAid which is the tax that we have paid on the money (I think). If MN do it then because they are a business the appeal won't get the tax back.

Sorry I missed previous thread. I would need to donate in my dh's name then as he pays tax and I dont.
