Does anyone else suffer badly from psoriasis? I've got a really bad flare-up on my scalp. its got so bad that its now a load of open wounds. I've tried shampoo's, creams, ointments and nothing is helping to soothe it. Help before I end up shaving my hair off to slap the cream straight on it 😕

I do, have had it for 20 years. Cut out gluten, sugar, alcohol, processed foods and start taking in serious probiotics to increase your gut bacteria. For my scalp I use alphosyl shampoo every day and every few days use betnovate scalp solution and my scalp been under control for a few years now. Not sure if it's just your scalp but a bath with oats is great to soften and soothe skin....I stick some in an old pair of tights in the bath. Hope things improve for you.

Have you tried coconut oil? I've heard good things.

I think this is in the wrong section.
Psoriosis is annoying but it's not exactly newsworthy

I have suffered from psoriasis for 20 years after a particularly stressful few months. I have went through the whole regimen of topical ointments, methotrexate, neoral, cyclosporine and then biologics. Have you been referred by your gp to the nhs dermatologist. Psoriasis can affect your mental health and there is help out there. xx

Please get a dermatology referral - you shouldn't be in this much distress and pain.

There are some good threads also in General Health.

If you are still needing a suggestion, my dh suffered with this, he send a cream called cocois , you rub in scalp , leave for an hour then wash out. It costs about £12 but dh says it's well worth it. His problem has practically gone, but you have to keep using it. There is more than one treatment in the tube. Hope this helps.
